A dorm dwellers dilemma would be the clashing of sleep preferences.  Dweller number one may want to carouse with Shakespeare while  dweller number two would rather catch some ZZZ's.  At this point they could  "draw sticks" or put up their dukes.

 

Not to worry, help is on the way.   I was not a typical dorm-dweller, but I had many confrontations with a certain significant other when I wanted to watch Leno with the "closed Caption' on and she wanted to hit the pillow.

 

I got to thinking, and it hit me.  I recalled that I had kept a sleeping-mask that was given to me when I did a long flight on a certain airline.  After searching for hours I found it and ask my significant other to wear it to keep the light from her eyes while I watch the tube.  That worked for a few nights, but it was always getting lost and she thought it was uncomfortable, so I went back to the "drawing board"  I was opening an envelope and a light-bulb went on. 

 

What if I could put a permanent flop on the pillow that could not slip under the bed?  I tried it and it worked perfectly.  Then I stumbled upon a second spin off benefit, on nights when it was chilly this flop acted as a nifty head-cover.

 

I have since discovered that one is supposed to loose approximately "84% of body-heat via an uncovered head.  So now it was not just an eye cover, it was now an energy saver, because we were able to lower the thermostat by 2 degrees.   But there is more,  my wife found that this flop functioned as a dust cover during the days when no one was sleeping on the pillow. 

 

We also found that it works perfectly for couples where one likes to leave the window to get fresh air in the dead of winter even for those who do not believe in going GREEN (saving energy).
